Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
Stir in the chopped bacon, barbecue sauce, and Italian seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Assembly and Baking
In a large baking dish, spread a layer of the meat mixture on the bottom. Then, layer with 3 lasagna noodles.
Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Top with a layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Repeat the layers: meat mixture, noodles, ricotta, and cheese.
Top with the final layer of noodles and remaining meat mixture. Sprinkle additional mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes after baking to help the layers set for cleaner slices. Ensure you cook the noodles al dente so they don’t overcook in the baking process.
